The town is an old settlement, dating from the Stone Age. The Monteoru Culture from the Bronze Age can be considered the development nucleus of this culture in the whole Europe.

There is also a history museum and a theatre where people can relax at the weekends.As far as I am concerned,I consider that the most important place in Buzau is "Tess Junior Club",where I like to spend my spare time and money! The town is an old settlement, dating from the Stone Age. The first documentary attestation of Buzau is from 372, April 12 in a Papal Document. Now it`s an important industrial centre. There are lots of schools, high schools and 2 universities.
