Spring Day 2006

Spring day 2006

My name is Găureanu Andreea Renata. I was interested from the beginning about the European program called “Spring Day 2006”. I read all the articles written by students from Malta and Lithuania and I have made my own impression. “Spring Day 2006” was a new experience for all children all over the world, and a very good one. For some of them it was the first time they were able to talk to teenagers from other countries, to share their passions and customs. And they really enjoyed it.
At first, all of us were a little shy, but the time passed and we got used to it. We discovered that all of us have the same hobbies, like listening to music, dancing, reading books or having pets. Our age can influence us to go out and have fun in clubs or in sweetshops. We also like going to the cinema and concerts.
So, despite the different nationalities all of us like having fun, all of us have a lot of friends, and all of us are very independent.
Maybe in time, using this excellent European program, we will be able to start long-during friendships with other children from other European countries.

SPRING IN ROMANIA

Alina Stancu - About Spring

The first season of the year is spring. Weather in spring is mild. There are temperatures between 0C and 20C. It was very cold this year in March. It was not spring, it was winter. Now, in May, the weather is nice, the grass is green and there are lots of flowers in the gardens and fields.
In spring we celebrate one of the most important holiday of the year- Easter. Two weeks before Easter people go to church every evening. The most important evening is the night of resurrection when the priest at the midnight comes out with a burning candle and says “come and take the light”. So, people go home with their burning candles and bring lights in their houses.
One week before Easter, people clean their houses and prepare for that important holiday. They also cook and bake different traditional food
Lamb Pudding
-lambs tounge, heart and liver
-onion, chopped
-bland large
-eggs
-parsley, to taste
-salt and pepper, to taste
Parboil tounge and remove skin and any veins. Cut up lungs, heart, tounge and livers into small chunks, sautee onion, meat, chill. Grind up chilled meat and onions. Turn into a bowl, add eggs, chopped parsley, salt and pepper and mix well.
Place lamb casing in a greased baking dish, place mixture in casing and fold edges. Bake at 350C for one hour or until done.

Ticleanu Claudia - Spring in Romania

Spring means revival… After a long and cold winter the trees, grass and flowers come to a new life. An orchard is a gorgeous view. The trees are in blossom. You can see the white and pink flowers of the fruit trees and you can also hear the sounds of the hard working bees which are flying from flower to flower.
The most important holiday in spring is Easter. People go to churches and pray. The first night, the night of resuraction people come back home with the so called “light” – candles burning – from the church. If you live in the village and the sky is covered and of course there is no light, you can see only the little “lights” dancing on the roads. They are light candles carried by those people who come back to their homes.
The traditional food on Easter is lamb-meat. Women prepare for their families different kinds of food made of lamb-meat.
